This individual is responsible for two types of work. The first is the peer leadership of Marquee test execution projects which may include multiple testing team members from both CUNA Mutual Group and testing vendor partners. They will have overall responsibility for developing overall plans, assign efforts, and for executing and reporting against those plans. The second is peer leadership and participation in development and deployment of testing standards and tools for development, execution, and documentation of tests and testing results. This person will operate under limited supervision for the performance of their assigned duties. When working in test execution mode, this person is responsible for communicating within the testing team, with assigned development team and other relevant testing stakeholders. They will lead various cross-functional teams/meetings as needed to perform their assigned tasks with limit oversight from testing portfolio managers. This position participates in budget and planning responsibilities for their assigned test execution projects. When focused on standards and tools, this person will play a significant role both in the refinement and deployment of those processes for testing line staff, soliciting and incorporating input from partners and constituents, and contributing to consistent messaging about standards and processes. Job Responsibilities: Testing Execution Leadership 1) Analyze requirements for testability and functional gaps. 2) Using established standards and tools, develop testing documentation to be used by themselves and others for the creation and execution of test scenarios and cases. 3) Review team testing documentation 4) Execute test cases and report results according to established test plans and using established test data. Lead in responding to issues with test plans, cases and data. 5) Document and report on testing activities using established tools and practices. 6) Log defects and track to closure, working with development teams to establish defect validity, cause and retesting as required. 7) Perform AdHoc testing as appropriate 8) Handle testing issue escalation in a timely fashion 9) Demonstrate mastery in at least two testing disciplines (Functional, Performance, Automation, etc) Testing Standards Peer Leadership 1) Participate in and own point continuous improvement efforts related to standards and processes as assigned 2) Refine and adapt testing standards and tools during execution to ensure efficiency while retaining appropriate flexibility 3) Peer lead the deployment and application of testing standards including building understanding within the Testing Center and with Testing Center Partners 4) Facilitate review of testing standards and tools effectiveness Internal and External Partnerships: 1) Mastery of business needs and processes for area of responsibility. Work with testing team members, development team and business partners to maintain in-depth knowledge of business functions supported by assigned systems. 2) Advocate for CUNA Mutual Group software development life cycle and how the quality life cycle is integrated with it. Review and provide input to changes to the testing framework. 3) Apply advanced effective communication practices with-in and across teams 4) Work with Testing Partners and Constituents to get their understanding and buy-in to established testing standards and tools. Job Requirements: 1) College degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent trade-off in related professional work experience. 2) 7+ years of testing and quality assurance experience 3) 3-5 years of peer leadership experience in an extended team environment. 4) Demonstrated communication, presentations, and teamwork skills.
