Job Description:

  • Work alongside failure analysis engineers supporting root cause failure analysis.
  • Learn basic failure analysis techniques and tools to identify failure mechanisms on digital and analog devices. Good problem solving skills are desired.
  • Work in a lab environment performing package de-cap, X-Ray, CSAM, and other bench top electrical testing, and programming, on devices for the purpose of verifying customer reported failure modes.
  • Must be able to work independently, set your daily priorities, and work in a team environment.
  • Document work as needed and provide updates to FA engineers. Good communication skills required.
  • Experience working in a lab environment is desired, but not required.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Communication with failure analysis engineers is important to insure proper de-processing of devices occurs.
  • Intern will develop strong lab skills with assorted laboratory/test/measurement equipment (e.g. oscilloscope, power supply, source meter, function generator, network analyzer, etc.)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools such as Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
  • Must be self-motivated, team player and adhere to Microchips company values.
  • This is a long term internship, thus ability to work part-time while attending college/university is required
