JOB OVERVIEW

A professional driver who has acquired a commercial driver's license (Class A, CDL) to operate trucks or commercial vehicles to transport materials and heavy equipment.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Drive and operate a variety of trucks and trailers with a gross weight over 26,001 lbs
• Follow instructions; review and read location and road maps
• Pre-inspect truck daily by following a checklist
• Pick up goods and materials, verify loads for accuracy, and deliver them as instructed throughout Wisconsin
• Load and unload cargo
• Responsible for basic vehicle maintenance
• Comply with all safe work practices, policies, and processes always
• Complete and verify paperwork for accuracy
• Home daily with local routes. Work 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred
• CDL - Class A, required
• Understanding of traffic laws and DOT regulations
• Able to pass random drug tests
• No serious or preventable traffic violations or accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the past three (3) years
• No convictions for DUI, DWI, OWI, or reckless driving involving drugs or alcohol in the past seven (7) years

PREFERRED SKILLS

• 2-3 years of Class A experience, preferred but not required
• Recent Grads welcome
• 21 years or older
• At least six (6) months of OTR experience
• Listening and verbal communication skills
• Professional attitude and dependable
• Forlift experience
